The pharmaceutical community is against herbal pharmacies being launched. Hamid Kheiri, a senior member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Iran voiced his opposition to the plan in an interview with ILNA saying the pharmaceutical fraternity has no issues per se with herbal medicines being distributed but ‘’ cannot approve of special pharmacies for medicinal herbs.’’ Kheiri added that medicines have “herbal, chemical or animal ingredients so there is no need to single out one of these categories.”
