Driver fatigue accounts for 30% to 40% of road accidents. A safety official at the roads and urban development ministry said only 32% of drivers use their vehicles during the recommended hours, ILNA reported. Mohammad Reza Ahadi added that fatigue has a debilitating effect on the brain functions and “slows the processing of information” which explains the reason for the accidents.
