At the beginning of the current water year (started October 1), the water level in Lake Urumia was 1270.15 meters, and it has now reached 1270.57 meters, due to the recent rainfall, said Mehrang Dusti Rezaie, general director of water resources research center at West Azarbaijan’s regional water company.   In the past 18 years, the lake has been facing constant decline in the water level, IRNA quoted him as saying.
