During the first 7 months of the calendar year (started March 21), 809 people lost their lives in traffic accidents in Tehran, the Iranian Legal Medicine Organization (ILMO) said. While in the same period last year, the number of fatalities was 849, Mehr News Agency reported. Most of the accidents (579) occurred in the city’s streets and passage ways. Also 213 cases occurred on suburban roads, 11 on rural roads and in 6 cases, the location was unknown.
