A Richter 5.3 magnitude earthquake jolted Dashti Region in Bushehr Province in the southwest at 7:49 am on Tuesday, ISNA reported. A spokesman at the Red Crescent said rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the areas near the epicenter of the quake but fortunately no major casualties were reported. Hussein Derakhshan added that the closest village to the epicenter of the quake is 6 km way.
