Couples will now receive free genetic counseling in four provinces. The head of the State Welfare Organization (SWO) said the plan is currently underway in Semnan, Yazd, Khorasan and Bushehr provinces in joint collaboration with the ministry of labor and social welfare, ISNA reported. Homayoon Hashemi added that the SWO-funded plan, can reduce and prevent many birth defects and disabilities in newborns.
