Concealed land mines in border regions between Iran and Iraq have become a boon for the Persian leopards, discouraging poachers from entering certain areas, Mehr News Agency reported. The leopards are nimble, spend much of their time in trees or on rocks, and their weight spread over four legs is light enough not to trigger the anti-tank mines, which typically are activated by payloads of more than 176 pounds (80 kilograms).
