If parents fail to monitor their children’s use of social networking mobile apps such as Viber, it can pose a threat to the social security of families and those around them. Police Social Deputy Brigadier General Saeed Montazerolmahdi said in a press release meant to raise family awareness that ‘’although it is too soon to judge the social ramifications of these networking apps, however, it has been concluded that mobile apps can leave users morally vulnerable in that they can facilitate viewing graphic contents,’’ ILNA reported. He warned that the threat is more immediate for children and adolescents. Montazerolmahdi recommended that families “prevent their children from using these apps before the age of puberty.”
