Two rare Asiatic cheetahs were killed in road accidents during the past week in Shahroud county, Semnan Province, according to reports of forest rangers, said Abbasali Damangir, general director of Semnan’s Department of Environment (DoE).
A meeting will be held with the county’s crisis management staff “to take all necessary measures to prevent further loss to this endangered species,” he said, quoted by Mehr News Agency.
He also emphasized the necessity of installing revolving lights and warning signs on roads in the cheetah’s habitat.
