An estimated 48% of Iranian students do not brush their teeth daily and 60% do not drink milk on a daily basis, the Health Ministry spokesperson, Iraj Harirchi, said on Monday.
“A recent study conducted by the Health Ministry on 43,000 students indicated that 21% of students are overweight or obese, while 16% are underweight,” IRNA quoted him as saying.
He noted that 27.5% of the students interviewed had poor dietary habits and 25.7% said they consume carbonated drinks at least once a week. Some 15% of students said they eat fast food once a week.
