Over 8,600 people supported by Imam Khomeini Relief Committee in Tehran took part in free vocational training courses during the last calendar year that ended in March, head of IKRC employment and entrepreneurship office, Hossein Fath-Abadi, said.
The training was provided to vulnerable groups supported by the charity, including single mothers, vulnerable women, children of troubled families and people with disabilities, to help them become financially self-reliant, he said, ISNA reported. IKRC also offers business owners incentives to encourage them to hire from among the trained people supported by the committee.
As part of the incentive package, the IKRC pays the employers’ share of the employees’ insurance premium in full for one year and half for the second year. The committee also provides free job-specific training to groups as need may be.
