Move Against Illegal Constructions

Shahrban Company, affiliated to Tehran Municipality, has identified and terminated an estimated 97,000 illegal construction projects in the capital during the first five months of the current fiscal that started in March, ISNA reported.

“Shahrban Company, on the orders of district municipalities, looked into 97,482 files and  suspended,  or if necessary demolished, the illegally constructions in and around Tehran,” head of the company, Abolqasem Chizari said. Chizari blamed the soaring property value in the capital as the main reason builders resort to illegal construction practices and normally disregard rules guiding the maximum built-up area and also build on unauthorized lands.
