More than 30 electric buses have been readied to return to Tehran’s public transportation fleet after receiving a complete repair and overhaul, said the head of Tehran Bus Company, Peyman Sanandaji, Mehr News Agency reported.

As summer comes to an end and the new academic year begins [September 23], the company will do all it can to ease the daily commute of students in the capital, he said.

Tehran Bus Company has a fleet of 76 buses and 62 vans modified to suit the needs of people with disability.  According to Sanandaji, the fleet provides services to 60 schools for students with disabilities as well as 169 educational and medical institutions over the past year.
