A beautiful rare bird the Saker Falcon, was seized from a smuggler in Abarkouh county in Yazd Province, said Mohammad Hassan Bagheri Fahraji, the social deputy of the Yazd police chief.
The smuggler was caught by police with the bird valued $850, while he was traveling to Shiraz, Alef News Agency reported.
The Saker Falcon migrates from Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan to Iran in August and September for overwintering, the process by which some organisms pass through or wait out the winter season, when normal activity or even survival is difficult or near impossible.
