Minister of Health and Medical Education Hassan Hashemi and his Tanzanian counterpart Suleiman Mohammed Rashid signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the areas of health and medical cooperation, reports Mehr NewsAgency.

Hashemi underlined the need for transfer of technology between the two countries and announced readiness by Iran’s private sector to cooperate and invest in the field of health in Tanzania. “Iran produces 96% of medicines domestically and also exports them to regional countries,’’ he said, and hoped Iranian-made drugs would find their way across the African region.

Expressing satisfaction over Iran-Tanzania bilateral cooperation, Rashid called on Iranian investors and companies to establish a pharmaceutical factory in Tanzania.
