During the last fiscal (ended in March), the Imam Khomeini Relief Committee helped create jobs for 150 households, according to the deputy for employment affairs at IKRC. “Those households are no longer covered by the committee as they are self-sufficient,” Mohammad Omid was quoted by Mehr News Agency as saying.

The charity will give 46 trillion rials ($1.2 billion) in loans to people it covers to start their own businesses this year, he said. “Our budget for the scheme is double that of last year,” Omid said.

He said paving the way for the development of micro jobs—small, task-based jobs—can help ease the unemployment problem.
