A bill to ban the employment of retired people was revised and approved by lawmakers after members of the Majlis Social Commission addressed its shortcomings.
The bill had failed to gain unanimous support in the chamber a few months ago due to a number of loopholes and was referred to the key commission for further review.
Based on the bill, hiring retired people is illegal, ICANA reported.
“The bill faced opposition multiple times,” said Masoud Rezaei, deputy head of the commission.
He stressed that due to the unemployment tsunami especially among the young and university graduates, hiring retired people must be prevented.
