Since advertising and encouraging of drugs is illegal, police will deal with those who stick pictures and labels of illicit drugs like marijuana on their cars or apparel, said Colonel Massoud Zahedian, the country’s anti-narcotics police chief. The traffic police are assigned to stop the cars with pictures and labels related to illegal drugs. Clothing companies and their unions have also been informed of the plan; and those flouting the rules will face prosecution, Zahedian told ISNA. “First time violators will be warned against using such pictures and labels. However, those who do not comply and continue to encourage the use of narcotics will be dealt differently.”
