Production of Rabies Vaccine

The preliminary technical phase of human rabies vaccine production is over and it is now in the clinical evaluation stage before final approval, said Dr. Mostafa Qanei, head of the Pasteur Institute of Iran. “The vaccine is expected to be produced for the local market by 2019,” ISNA quoted him as saying. In Iran every year 150,000 people are bitten by rabies-infected animals. In the last calendar year (ended in March), eight people died because they failed to take anti-rabies injections.
