Sixty-six new cars were added to Tehran Metro fleet on Monday and city officials said this will help increase the capacity of the crowded subway system by 230,000 people per day.
In addition to the wagons, 30 buses joined Tehran’s bus fleet, YJC reported.
Improving the public transportation system and expanding their access has been a top priority to help alleviate Tehran’s failed struggle with air pollution. While the city’s air quality has slightly improved since 2013, progress has been at a snail’s pace.
