Based on an agreement between Iran’s Cultural Heritage and Tourism Research Center and Hosseinieh Ershad Library, museum brochures will be published in Braille and made available in audio to cater to the needs of the blind, the research center said in a statement on its website. The exact number of the blind in the country is not known, but based on figures by the World Health Organization Iran has an estimated 120,000 blind people while 450,000- 550,000 people are visually impaired or have low visions, ranking 16th worldwide.
