    Housing for the Poor

    Barakat Foundation will build 21,500 housing units in the next two years in underprivileged areas, according to the managing director of the foundation, Aref Nourouzi.  “The entire scheme will cost around 800 billion rials ($21.1 million),” he told Mehr News Agency.  The foundation has already built 7,500 apartments, he added. Barakat Foundation is dedicated to creating entrepreneurs, building schools and infrastructure in remote and underdeveloped regions. It is affiliated to the Setad, a special office for executing the decrees of the late Imam Khomeini in helping the needy.
