Tehran Urban and Suburban Railway Company plans to install platform screen doors in 11 of the most crowded subway stations in Tehran.  “The scheme will cost around 100 billion rials ($2.6 million) per station,” ISNA quoted company chief, Habil Darvish, as saying. PSDs are glass walls that screen platforms from tracks with doors that open in sync with the train’s doors. They serve multiple purposes, mainly in preventing accidental falls off the platform and reducing wind felt by passengers.  Some members of Tehran City Council have backed the plan.
