A comprehensive plan for waste management will be launched soon from the southeast part of the capital, mayor of Tehran District 15 announced. Ali Akbar Anjomani quoted by ISNA said the plan is to address people’s complaints about the problems of routine garbage disposal. It includes creating awareness on sorting and segregating household waste at source; door to door distribution of waste baskets for the purpose, and educational brochures. He added that during the pilot plan which was carried out in district one, 103,000 garbage bags, 37,000 brochures and 2,000 ‘bonus gadgets’ were distributed among households, schools and mosques.
