An estimated 1,000 community nursing centers have managed to bring their services to higher standards and qualify for a permit from the Health Ministry.
“The operation of these licensed centers is expected to improve professional care and create jobs for 15,000 nursing graduates every year,” IRNA quoted Deputy Health Minister for Nursing Mohammad Mirzabeigi as saying. A guideline for home caring services has also been devised and sent to all medical schools.
Community nursing services were recently given tariffs and are covered by insurance schemes as part of the Health Ministry’s efforts to organize the sector.
Community nursing provides comprehensive nursing care that aims to keep the sick in the comfort of their own home during periods of short or longer term illness or acute disability.
