With the start of the holiday season, 25,000 summer camps across the country have started their programs for students.
A ceremony was held yesterday at Meysam Educational and Cultural Center in Tehran to mark the launching of summertime activities, Mehr News Agency reported.
“Summer camps provide an opportunity for students to take up leisure activities and hobbies that they were not able to during their school time,” said Mehdi Ali Akbarzadeh, head of the Education Ministry’s department for art, culture and excursions.
The camps will also help discover students’ talents and capabilities and provide the ground for them to put their knowledge into practice.
The official stressed the importance of skills acquisition in today’s competitive job market.
