Hotline for Breach of Medical Tariffs

Any breach of medical tariffs and imposition of extra costs on patients can be reported to the Health Ministry’s hotline 190.  All health providers, including state, non-state and charity medical centers and private offices, are compelled to abide by the government’s approved medical tariffs, and any violation will be punishable under article 70 of the sixth five-year economic development plan (2017-2022), said Mohammad Hussein Mirdehqan, director of the ministry’s Treatment Supervision Office.

He called on all the relevant bodies to “strictly follow the regulations,” IRNA reported.

Medical tariffs are fixed by the Supreme Insurance Council and are communicated to all healthcare providers after approval by the Cabinet. Universities of medical sciences are in charge of supervising their compliance with the regulatins.
