New Health Facilities in Tabriz Hospitals

Twenty health facilities (12 in the capital Tabriz and 8 in other cities) were inaugurated in East Azarbaijan Province in the presence of Health Minister Seyed Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi, on Saturday. One of the biggest projects was construction of an emergency ward in Tabriz’s Alzahra Hospital at a cost of 10 billion rials ($250,000).  A Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) - a method of feeding that bypasses the gastrointestinal tract - ward was also inaugurated at the hospital, where premature babies receive nutritional formulae that contain nutrients such as glucose, salts, amino acids, lipids and added vitamins and dietary minerals, IRNA reported. Three more emergency wards were opened at Sina and Imam Reza hospitals in Tabriz, and Ahar Hospital in Ahar city. A 24-hour dental clinic with 12 dental units was also inaugurated in Tabriz, and 11.3 billion rials ($283,000) was spent on its construction and equipment.
