Housing for Disabled

An estimated 11,000 households with two or more disabled members have been identified in the country. By the end of the next calendar year in March 2019, residential units will be provided to all the identified families, said Anoushiravan Mohseni Bandpei, head of State Welfare Organization, on Saturday. “So far, housing has been provided to 2,900 households with more than two disabled members. Residential units will be provided to 4,000 more families by the end of the current year in March 2018,” IRNA quoted him, as saying. In July 2015, the Bonyad Mostazafan (a foundation for the oppressed and disabled founded in 1979 as per a decree by the late Imam Khomeini) signed a memorandum of understanding with the SWO to provide housing to families with disabled members.
