More than 4,000 teaching and non-teaching staff will retire in Tehran city by the end of the current fiscal year in March 2018, said Alireza Kamrei, director general of Tehran’s Education Department, on Tuesday. The Education Ministry will face shortage of staff in the coming years, he said, urging the authorities to start the process of recruitment of new teachers to fill the empty posts, ISNA reported. Earlier, Esfandiar Chaharband, head of the ministry’s Human Resources Management Office, had pointed to the plan to recruit 14,500 teachers and non-teaching staff in the new school year (starts in September) across the country.
