There are 2,290 medical emergency stations across the country at present, of which one-third function in make-shift arrangements, said Pir Hossein Kolivand, head of Iran’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS), on Tuesday.  “Our priority is to replace all temporary stations with permanent buildings by the end of the current fiscal year in March 2018,” IRNA quoted him as saying.  The EMS has signed a memorandum of understanding with universities of medical sciences across the country by which the construction costs of the stations will be shared equally by the universities and EMS, he said.  Municipalities are expected to provide land required for establishing the permanent stations, which will be constructed near metro and fire fighting stations, to facilitate quick delivery of emergency medical services.
