Social Emergency Centers Expand

Since the beginning the current year (started March 20), 24 social emergency centers have been established in provinces of Sistan-Baluchestan, Gilan, Lorestan, Kermanshah, Kerman and Tehran (Damavand County). “The State Welfare Organization has plans to launch 116 more centers across the country by the end of the current year in March 2018,” said Mahdi Mir-Shah Valad, head of Public Relations at the SWO, on Monday. Experts at the centers will offer counseling by phone or attend in person the scene of domestic violence or abuse. Those who want to report cases of social disorders, such as spousal and child abuse, violence, runaway girls, women and street children, can dial the hotline 123.
