The 16th Int’l Mashhad Flower Exhibit kicked off on May 8 in the holy city of Mashhad, capital of Khorasan Razavi Province, concurrent with the 15th International Exhibition of Flowers, Plants, Park Equipment and Related Industries that opened in

Tehran on May 6 at the municipality’s Specialized Exhibition Center at Goft-o-Goo Park in Nasr neighborhood. Over 450 flower and plant companies from nine countries including Russia, Turkey, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, China, Azerbaijan, Indonesia and the Netherlands are participating in the Mashhad exhibition. A wide display of roses and bulbous flower cultivation, gardening and greenhouse equipment, and seeds and fertilizers are on show and for sale, IRNA reported.

The domestic floral sector has the capacity to produce more than 1,800 species of decorative plants and flowers. Currently, 100,000 people are working in flowers and plants production centers across the country. The exhibition is open until May 12.
