The Tehran City Council chairman has urged the construction of more facilities for the disabled. Mehdi Chamran quoted by ISNA said “special research has been conducted by an architecture professor and the results have been presented to the municipality for action.” At present, all contractors are required to show provision of facilities for the disabled in their edifices, before construction permit is granted to them.
