Heavy Rainfall Hits 12 Provinces

Torrential rains and storms have hit multiple regions, causing floods in 12 provinces and disrupting lives of thousands of people. Over the past three days, emergency aid was provided to people in 40 cities and villages in provinces of West Azarbaijan, Ardebil, Isfahan, Tehran, Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari, Zanjan, Fars, Qazvin, Qom, Kordestan, Lorestan, and Mazandaran. Over 1,300 people were given relief assistance while 180 were provided emergency shelters. More than 130 residential units were drained of floodwaters and 16 trapped automobiles were hauled to safety. Flood-relief operations continue in Isfahan, Tehran, Lorestan and Qom, IRNA reported.
