Close to  230 joint projects are underway with European countries in areas of science, medicine, and technology, said Science Minister Mohammad Farhadi.

“The policies of the ministry are to support growth in areas of nanotechnology, biotechnology, nuclear medicine and knowhow, information and computer technology, and cognitive sciences,” he said at the second International Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine Congress in Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi Province.

The countries in scientific cooperation with Iran include Germany, Italy, Turkey, Russia, and Austria among others, ILNA reported.

Pointing to increased mutual ties in the aftermath of the Iran nuclear deal which came into effect in January 2016, he said collaborative projects have begun with universities in South Korea, the Netherlands and France, and on average, 10 academic delegations visited Tehran over the past year.
