The future of medicine “is interrelated with stem cell therapy and the treatment of refractory and incurable diseases is in this field of medicine,” said Dr. Ahmad Vosouq Dizaj, the clinical deputy of Royan Institute, in his speech at the 2nd International Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine Congress. The confab at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi Province, concluded on Friday with more than 1,000 participants in attendance. He also said that having access to engineering sciences as well as the combination of biology and medicine can play a crucial role in redressing health problems. “Scientists of engineering majors are conducting in-depth researches alongside biologists and medical practitioners to find cure for diseases and promote public health.” Hundreds of people from 10 countries attended the event with 12 keynote speakers from Italy, China, Turkey, the US, Malaysia, and Australia, reported. Iran’s stem cell research is centered at the Royan Institute for Reproductive Biomedicine, Stem Cell Biology and Technology, located in northern Tehran.
