‘White Line’ Plan Launched

The Tehran traffic police chief announced the launching of the ‘White Line’ plan aimed to tackle traffic violations in two districts of Tehran. Col. Teymoor Hosseini quoted by ISNA said ‘the current blitz is carried out as a pilot plan in districts 6 and 8 and will be extended throughout the capital by the end of the calendar year (March 20, 2015). The plan will include punishment for violations such as lane jumping, vehicles crossing into pedestrian areas, etc. He said the two violations will incur fines up to $13 and $6 respectively. The ticket for jumping the red light “is different from crossing into the pedestrian area” and will attract a penalty of $33, he added.
