Expansion of Psychiatric Wards

With the aim to improve the quality of psychiatric clinical care in Iran, 1,000 new beds for psychiatric wards were inaugurated in the last fiscal (ended March 20), Health Minister  Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi, said Friday on the occasion of the World Health Day 2017. “At present there are 11,000 psychiatric beds in the country,” he said, ISNA reported. The global health awareness day is celebrated every year on 7 April, under the sponsorship of the World Health Organization. The goal of World Health Day 2017 campaign is that more people with depression in the world seek and get help and mental healthcare services, ISNA reported.
