Traffic on the Karaj-Chalus road that connects Tehran to the northern holiday resorts will be restricted to one-way for specified hours on April 7, said Alborz Province Traffic Police Chief Colonel Reza Goudarzi on Wednesday. “The road will be closed for traffic from south to north that is from Karaj in Alborz Province to Marzanabad in Mazandaran Province from 2 pm to 11 pm on April 7,” IRNA quoted him as saying. The measure is to help facilitate the return of people home from the northern provinces and prevent traffic congestions that have become a permanent feature of the much-traveled narrow roadway. During the Norouz holidays (March 20-April 2) large number of people drive to the popular tourist areas and the Caspian coast.
