5 New Air EMS Opened

Five new aerial emergency medical services (EMS) were inaugurated in Aligudarz, Yasuj, Lar and Jahrom and Tabas cities, located in the provinces of Lorestan, Kohgiluyeh-Boyer-Ahmad, Fars, and South Khorsan respectively, on Sunday. The opening ceremony was held through a video conference in the presence of Health Minister Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi. With their opening, the number of air emergency medical service stations in which aircraft or helicopters are used to move patients to healthcare facilities from accident scenes or hard-to-reach areas, has reached 30, said Pirhossein Kolivand, head of Iran’s Emergency Medical Services, IRNA reported. Three more air stations will be opened in the first month of the new fiscal year which starts on March 21.
