Men from the age of 50 should be screened regularly for different diseases including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high blood sugar and diabetes as well as male-specific diseases including prostate cancer. They also should be screened for the more common cancers among them like skin, colon, stomach and intestinal, said Mohammad Amin Abbasi Eslamlou, internal medicine specialist, ISNA reported.  “Those who have a family member with one of the mentioned cancers and diseases should be screened every 10 years from the age of 35,” he said.  Health Minister Hassan Hasemi said recently that life expectancy in Iran has gone up to 80.5 years for women and 79 years for men, due to better healthcare.
