A total of 433,000 kg of unsafe food items were identified and confiscated since the start of food safety inspections across the country for the Iranian New Year ‘Norouz.’ “Since February 19, a total of 290,000 inspections were conducted,” said Seyyed Reza Gholami, manager of the Norouz Inspection Program of the Health Ministry, Webda reported. Also, 987 public places were shut down due to violations of health regulations. The plan aims to safeguard people’s health by ensuring public places maintain hygiene, including restaurants, accommodation facilities, gas stations, parks, and roadside facilities, during the long break starting on March 20.
