AUT Receives SME Award

The Department of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering of Amirkabir University of Technology ranked first in achievements in the minerals industry at the annual competition of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration (SME) and received the SME award. The society administers and presents numerous awards for outstanding individual and group achievements in the minerals industry. It is located at the University of Colorado Boulder which has over 15,000 international students from 100 countries, IRNA reported.

The society also aims to help develop students’ understanding and synergy.

Colorado School of Mines, University of Michigan, New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, University of Pennsylvania, South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, University of Arizona, University of Missouri, University of Nevada, Reno, University of British Columbia, University of New South Wales and Queen’s University were among other participants in the competition.
