In a meeting between the new Portuguese Ambassador Jaoa Corte Real and Iranian deputy minister of science, research and technology for international affairs Hossein Salar-Amoli in Tehran on Sunday, the two sides exchanged views on expansion of joint scientific cooperation. “Portugal has always been a friendly country, and Iran is willing to strengthen cooperation in science and research between the two sides,” Salar-Amoli said. Strengthening reciprocal scientific cooperation between Iran and its European partners like Portugal could be effective in the context of ‘Horizon 2020’ – the EU Framework Program for Research and Innovation. Corte Real, for his part, expressed readiness for boosting scientific cooperation with Iran, Mehr News Agency reported.
