Safe Drinking Water Restored

Safe drinking water to the flood-stricken people in various provinces of the country, including Fars, Bushehr, Khuzestan, Kerman and Sistan-Baluchistan provinces was provided by the Health Ministry during the past month when heavy rainfall for days together disrupted water supply and electricity services. “Damages in the water supply networks in the affected provinces have now been repaired by the Energy Ministry and people have access to safe piped drinking water,” said Khosrow Sadeqniyat, director general of Environmental and Workplace Health, on Friday. “The Health Ministry conducted safety checks of the drinking water supplies in the provinces,” before piped water was restored, he said quoted by IRNA. Isfahan, Ilam, Hormozgan, Khorasan Razavi, North Khorasan, Tehran and Kohgiluyeh-Boyer Ahmad were the other provinces hit by heavy rainfall.
