Annually, 2,000-3,000 children lose their lives in traffic accidents in Iran, said Ali Gorji, director of Shafa Neuroscience Research Center. “Installing infant car seat could reduce such casualties by 70%-80%,” he said at the 6th International Congress of Road Safety and 3rd International Conference of Neurotrauma in Tehran, on Thursday. “People must be informed that a small inexpensive facility like an infant car seat could make a big difference in times of an accident,” he said, ISNA reported. Traffic-related fatalities are the leading cause of death in the country among all unintentional fatal injuries inflicted on children under five.
