Seminar on Side Effects of Cancer Treatment

The common and uncommon side effects of cancer treatment will be discussed at a one-day specialized seminar on ‘Side Effects of Oncology Treatment’ in Tehran on February 16.

“Chemotherapy and radiation therapy can cause long-term side effects to the brain, spinal cord, and nerves, and some late effects include hearing loss from high doses of chemotherapy,” said Dr Mohammad Babaei, scientific secretary of the event.

The seminar will explore each side effect and propose methods to prevent, reduce or minimize them with appropriate treatment, YJC reported.

Experts in oncology, hematology, gynecology, infectious diseases, internal medicine, general medicine, radiotherapy, and nursing for target groups will attend the meet. Cancer patients can also sign up to participate free of charge.
