The chairman of the budget committee of Tehran City Council said 4000 more owners of old taxicabs have received interest-free loans to buy new vehicles. Alireza Dabir told ISNA the loans were each worth $6600. Dabir said funding was provided by the Tehran Municipality (TM) to the council, and added that 50% of taxi drivers had received interest-free loans so far.
