The State Welfare Organization has launched a hotline to provide round the clock counseling for people from all age groups.
“In today’s world, the need for psychological help and counseling is felt more than ever as nearly 73% of factors contributing to reduction in life expectancy pertain to lifestyle and the social environment,” said Minister of Labor, Cooperatives and Social Welfare Ali Rabiei.
The aim of the SWO hotline 1480 is to provide psychological counseling to people from all social strata, particularly those who cannot afford to visit expensive psychologists. There are 520 counselors available on the hotline.
“We are looking to expand the hotline and counselors to one million, to meet the high demand,” Rabiei said, Mehr News Agency reported.
